Sina (she/her) has been part of NATO’s Human Security Unit for over two years, covering both Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS). In her work, she directly supports the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security, Ms. Irene Fellin, in implementing NATO’s Women, Peace and Security Policy and advocating for gender equality. The nexus between gender equality and conflict management has also been at the core of her previous work, including work on the transformation of violent-centered masculinities in armed conflict, supporting local women politicians and refugee women. Her M.A. thesis focused on the barriers to women’s participation in peace negotiations in the context of the Juba Peace Talks (2006-2008). In addition to her professional experience, she has volunteered as a ONE Youth Ambassador, working to end extreme poverty and preventable diseases by 2030. She also worked with youth for over seven years, facilitating cultural exchange and understanding.
