Michelle Nedashkovskaya is an expert in online safety and mitigating risks associated with emerging technology.  Prior to joining OpenAI’s Strategic Intelligence team, Michelle served as a Policy Lead at YouTube, tackling myriad issues ranging from disinformation, to financial fraud, to responsible approaches to AI-generated content. Michelle began her career in the US federal government through Princeton University’s “Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative” (SINSI). She served as a policy adviser to the Board of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the US Mission to the United Nations, and the US Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Michelle spent years pursuing research on disinformation and influence operations with the Empirical Studies of Conflict project and the Liechtenstein Institute at Princeton University. She has also served as a fellow with the Brooking Institution’s “Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Initiative” and Schmidt Futures’ “International Strategy Forum.” Michelle earned her MPA and BA degrees from Princeton University, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
